{"id":57821,"date":"2022-09-25T11:16:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-25T15:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/?p=57821"},"modified":"2022-09-21T14:16:36","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T18:16:36","slug":"legal-pro-bono-opportunity-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/legal-pro-bono-opportunity-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal Pro Bono opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Payment Plan Laws Compliance Review: &nbsp;The 2021 Florida legislature passed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2021\/838\">SB 838<\/a>.&nbsp; This law requires the clerks of court to develop a uniform plan to establish payment for people incurring fines.&nbsp; See Fla. Stat. 28.42(2)-(3) (2021. &nbsp;In the 2022 Florida legislative session <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfloridahouse.gov\/Sections\/Bills\/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=73668&amp;SessionId=93\">HB 397<\/a> was passed. This law is based on a citizen\u2019s ability to pay fines and fees imposed by the court.&nbsp; The law provides a formula for calculating general payments as well as a formula for down payments, if the clerk requires a down payment. See Fla.
