The inaugural IMLA Charles W. Thompson, Jr.<\/strong> Local Government Law Scholarships!<\/strong> \u00a0 Since 1935, IMLA has been singularly devoted to promoting excellence in the practice of local government law, through publications, conferences, online resources, amicus support and an active community of local government lawyer members exchanging best practices. \u00a0 Named in honor of Charles Thompson, local government law lecturer, county attorney, and long-time Executive Director of IMLA, the IMLA Scholarships represent an extension of IMLA\u2019s activities, by encouraging law students to pursue the study of local government law and expand the ranks of those interested in service to their communities as local government lawyers. \u00a0

\u00a0 The IMLA Scholarships consist of a single $5,000 award and two $2,500 awards which will be conferred annually on applicants selected by IMLA, to be applied as tuition at an accredited law school in the United States or Canada. IMLA Scholarship recipients will also be recognized in IMLA\u2019s flagship publication Municipal Lawyer<\/em> and will be granted admission to IMLA\u2019s virtual Annual Mid-Year Seminar during the Spring following the award (so long as the IMLA Mid-Year Seminar is offered virtually), allowing access to leading-edge curricula and domain experts across a wide span of local government law subjects. \u00a0 Learn More Here!<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0
