{"id":58298,"date":"2022-10-17T08:34:05","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T12:34:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/?p=58298"},"modified":"2022-10-17T08:34:06","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T12:34:06","slug":"congratulations-dispute-resolution-board-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/congratulations-dispute-resolution-board-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations, Dispute Resolution Board!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Stetson University College of Law\u2019s Dispute Resolution Board has won the 2022 University of Houston Law Center National Mediator Competition.\u00a0 This is the second time we have won this competition.\u00a0 Representing Stetson in this competition as mediators were Team Captain Kathryn Alkire, Reice Reid, and Selina Nadeau, all 3L students and returning DR Board members.\u00a0 The team was coached by Stetson Law alumna and adjunct faculty member Amy A. Catledge, Esq.\u00a0 This particular competition is a \u201ccompetition within a competition,\u201d in that the students who are competing as mediators must mediate among teams of two University of Houston students, one of whom plays the attorney and one of whom plays the client, who are also competing against each other.\u00a0 After two intensive preliminary rounds, the top four mediators, including Selina, advanced to semifinals, and then the top two mediators, including Selina advanced to finals, after which Selina was announced as the champion.\u00a0 This is one of the DR Board\u2019s most difficult competitions, as each mediator competes without a teammate and must therefore \u201cread the room\u201d and adjust their strategy and presentation constantly throughout the competition.\u00a0 After participating in this competition, students also have learned the very important professional competency of how to serve as a mediator.\u00a0 Congratulations to a great team on a job very well done, and a special thanks to Professor Catledge on her expert mentoring and coaching and the <em>many<\/em> hours invested in both.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stetson University College of Law\u2019s Dispute Resolution Board has won the 2022 University of Houston Law Center National Mediator Competition.\u00a0 This is the second time we have won this competition.\u00a0 [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":76,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9,10,8],"tags":[298],"class_list":["post-58298","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-faculty","category-staff","category-students","tag-adr-board"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/58298","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/76"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=58298"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/58298\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":58299,"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/58298\/revisions\/58299"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=58298"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=58298"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=58298"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
