The State Attorney\u2019s Office is tasked with promoting community safety through the ethical prosecution of criminal offenses.\u00a0\u00a0 This role requires our Assistant State Attorneys to have easy access to up-to-date legal research and training.\u00a0 To support our attorneys, our office maintains a database of these resources.\u00a0 These resources include topics such as search and seizure, current developments in forensic science, stand your ground defenses, and speedy trial.\u00a0\u00a0 SAO13 is seeking law students with an interest in criminal law topics to assist in the development and maintenance of these resources.\u00a0 This is a self-paced, remote opportunity with a focus on legal research.\u00a0 Students will not work on specific cases, nor will they have access to protected criminal justice information; a background check is not required.\u00a0 This program can accept up to 10 law students who can complete up to 30 hours with the program.\u00a0 Students can select the number of hours that they would like to complete and the time frame for completion.\u00a0 They will work under the supervision of licensed attorneys:\u00a0 Renee Muratti, Chief Assistant State Attorney, and Diane Marger Moore, Director of the Conviction Review Unit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
