Our Legal Department offers refugees and immigration legal services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; We would like to extend internships and pro-bono opportunities to law students who are interested in pursuing a career in the immigration field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 We are currently looking for law students who are interested in helping in-person with an Asylum Project and preparing court related documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Law students are expected to assist with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Screening clients under the supervision of a staff member;<\/li><li>Fill out Asylum applications;<\/li><li>Assist clients to draft their Statements in English;<\/li><li>Prepare Asylum packets to be sent to USCIS and the court;<\/li><li>Draft motions for change of venue.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; Students will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Meet with clients regarding their immigration needs;<\/li><li>Broaden their knowledge of immigration law;<\/li><li>Shadow LSF attorneys and paralegals;<\/li><li>Assist with important administrative tasks;<\/li><li>Work on research projects.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please send a cover letter and a resume to Ramzy Jawwad (<a href=\"mailto:ramzy.jawwad@lsfnet.org\">ramzy.jawwad@lsfnet.org<\/a>) for consideration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable communities across the state of Florida.
