{"id":63053,"date":"2023-08-21T14:57:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-21T18:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/?p=63053"},"modified":"2023-08-21T10:09:26","modified_gmt":"2023-08-21T14:09:26","slug":"announcement-for-seminar-and-irp-students-scholarly-writing-series-programs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/announcement-for-seminar-and-irp-students-scholarly-writing-series-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcement for Seminar and IRP Students&#8211;Scholarly Writing Series Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Welcome back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are 2L, 3L, or 4L taking a seminar or an independent research project class this semester to fulfill the upper-level writing requirement, you may be required to watch the Scholarly Writing Series programs, so <em>please<\/em> keep reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These programs are available, as web casts on a Westlaw TWEN page entitled, \u201cStetson\u2019s Scholarly Writing Series.\u201d &nbsp;(There is no password.)&nbsp; Each web cast is about 35 to 55 minutes long.&nbsp; The three programs that are offered in the series are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Topic Selection and Research;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thesis and Organization; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proper Attribution and Footnotes\/Endnotes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All three web casts (and accompanying handouts) will be available throughout the semester.&nbsp; The three quizzes will open on a rolling basis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quiz 1, on Topic Selection and Research, opens at 8:00 a.m., Monday, August 28, 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quiz 2, on Thesis and Organization, opens at 8:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quiz 3, on Proper Attribution and Footnotes\/Endnotes, opens at 8:00 a.m., on Monday, September 25, 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All three quizzes will close on <strong>Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three quizzes will serve as the attendance for the web casts.&nbsp; Documentation of who has taken the quizzes will be forwarded to the professors teaching seminar courses or supervising independent research projects.&nbsp; Quizzes will not be re-opened after they close.&nbsp; In order to receive \u201ccredit\u201d for the quiz, you must get at least 75% of the questions correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions about the Scholarly Writing Series programs in general, please contact me (bowman@law.stetson.edu).&nbsp; You will find additional information about the programs in the Scholarly Writing Series policy located on the Stetson webpage.&nbsp; If you have any questions concerning whether your professor requires the Scholarly Writing Series programs or specific questions about your paper, please ask your professor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Bowman<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back!
