The Fall 2023 SBA election cycle is underway, and nominations will be accepted starting tomorrow morning at 8:30am for legislative representatives. There are legislative seats available for full-time 1L (13)<\/strong>, part-time 1L (3)<\/strong> students and LLM (1)<\/strong> students. Please see condensed timeline below and please see attached rules for all requirements and information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          SBA Tabling in Breezeway 9\/7\/23 12:00pm \u2013 1:00pm (Riley Matthews & Chase White \u2013 SBA Election Chairmen)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Nominations: (9\/7\/23 8:30am – 9\/8\/23 at 11:59pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Validation required by: 9\/10\/23 at 5:00pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Candidate Profile due 9\/10\/23 5:00pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Candidate campaigning: (9\/12\/23 at 5:00pm \u2013 9\/14\/23 at 11:59pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Voting: (9\/12\/23 at 8:30am \u2013 9\/14\/23 at 11:59pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Violation reporting period end 9\/14\/23 at 11:59pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–          Results released to the student body: 9\/15\/23 at 12:00pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After submitting a nomination form you should receive a submission confirmation through email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nominations will begin on Thursday, September 7th<\/sup> at 8:30am<\/strong>, and be accepted until Friday, September 8th<\/sup><\/strong> at 11:59pm<\/strong>. An election informational tabling will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, September 7th<\/sup><\/strong>, in the Sebring Breezeway to answer any questions or concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Elections Committee handles all nominations, which are kept confidential. Please direct any questions or comments to elections@law.stetson.edu<\/a> but remember any nomination must be submitted through the Engage link above to be accepted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are nominated and plan to run for one of the available positions, you must validate your nomination using the following validations link: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Validations are due by Sunday, September 10th<\/sup>, by 5:00pm. <\/strong>Instructions will be given to nominees through email if validated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The general election will begin Tuesday, September 12th<\/sup><\/strong> at 8:30am<\/strong>, and will last 3 days, concluding on Thursday, September 14th <\/sup>at 11:59pm<\/strong>. Candidates, equal to the number of offices available, who receive the highest number of votes, shall be elected. In case of a tie for the last position available, a run-off shall be held. The information you provide in this form will be visible on the Fall 2023 Election Ballot.

Candidates who do not complete this form by 5:00pm on September 10, will not have any information (except for their name) shown on the ballot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Elections Committee strongly urges all students who intend on participating in the Fall elections to read the SBA Elections Rules (attached). These rules must be always followed by all students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
