Hassell, Sr. National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition, at Regent University School of Law. This is the third Best Oralist award for Moot Court this semester!\u00a0 <strong><em>Hailey<\/em><\/strong> was the top oralist out of a group of at least 80 advocates at the competition.\u00a0 <strong><em>Hailey<\/em><\/strong>, along with her teammates <strong><em>Kristina Lester <\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>Benjamin Russell<\/em><\/strong> became experts on the complex issues of law regarding social media companies and the First Amendment.\u00a0 The team lost a close round in the quarterfinals to a team from Liberty that would go on to lose a close round in the final round (3-2) to the other Liberty team.\u00a0 Congratulations to <strong><em>Hailey, Kristina<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em>and <strong><em>Ben<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a regional a little closer to home, <strong><em>Callista Grabel<\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>Lily Shelton<\/em> <\/strong>participated in the New York City Bar\u2019s 75th Annual National Moot Court Competition, Region V. Our regional is comprised of schools from Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, and is usually one of the largest regionals in the nation.&nbsp; Competition is always fierce in Region V, and even though the team was 3-1 after the preliminary rounds, the team was just points away from being in the semifinals.&nbsp; Congratulations to <strong><em>Callista<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Lily<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to Professor Virelli who coached the National team and to my co-coach Caitlein Jammo, Esq., who helped coach the Regent team, and the professors, attorneys, Moot Court Board members, and students who helped the teams prepare!\u00a0 It takes a community to prepare for a Moot Court competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And students who entered this fall, if learning a little bit about Moot Court-style oral arguments sounds interesting to you, watch these Announcements over the holiday break, as we try to reschedule this year\u2019s Chief Justice Oral Argument Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happy Thanksgiving and good luck on your exams!<br>Professor Bowman<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please join me in congratulating Hailey Schlotthauer for winning the Best Oralist award at this weekend\u2019s 24th Annual Leroy R.
