Stetson University College of Law and the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay formed a partnership\u00a0<\/sub>in 2019—\u00a0The Alliance for Advocacy and Philanthropy (\u201cThe Alliance\u201d)<\/u>\u00a0— to benefit the Tampa Bay area.\u00a0 As part of the collaboration, the Alliance has an office space on our Gulfport campus and offers paid fellowships to Stetson Law students. The fellowships are for\u00a0the Fall\u00a02024 and Spring 2025 semesters.\u00a0\u00a0Students chosen for this fellowship may work virtually,\u00a0at\u00a0Community Foundation of Tampa Bay\u2019s \u00a0Gulfport campus, or at one\u00a0of their offices in downtown St. Petersburg or Tampa.\u00a0 Through this fellowship, students will have\u00a0the opportunity to attend community events\u00a0and are required to work approximately 13-15 hours per week for \u00a010-12 weeks.<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Community Fellow, you will gain an in-depth understanding of community philanthropy and have hands-on opportunities to work with nonprofit organizations.  You will be introduced to nonprofit board governance, the grantmaking process, donor development, and funding agreements.  In addition, you will receive considerable exposure to how grants are evaluated and sustained; and you may also be called upon to analyze data to support nonprofit organizational needs and to assess programmatic outcomes.<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in applying for\u00a0one of these\u00a0paid fellowships either for the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 semesters\u00a0please submit your resumes and a cover letter to Professor Scully\u00a0and Jesse Coraggio, Vice President of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay\u00a0at\u00a0thealliance@law.stetson.edu<\/a>\u00a0no later than\u00a0\u00a0Thursday August 29th at 5\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>p.m<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0Your cover letter should indicate why you are interested in this position and what skills you currently possess that you think will be an asset to The Alliance.\u00a0<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you submit your cover letter expressing interest in this fellowship, you must indicate whether you are interested in working in the Fall or Spring semester because student fellows are eligible to work for only one semester.<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finalists for this fellowship will be notified no later than Friday, <\/sub>August 30th . Finalists for the fellowship will be interviewed by Professor Scully and Dr. Jesse Coraggio on Wednesday, September 4th.  The interviews will be virtual and alternative dates for virtual interviews may be arranged if scheduling conflicts occur.<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students that are chosen to become Fellows in the Fall semester will begin work with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay during <\/sub>the second week of September.   Students chosen to become Fellows in the Spring semester will begin work with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay in the second week of the Spring semester.<\/sub><\/p>\n\n\n\n
