Calling all Stetson Law 1Ls and 2Ls: Spend this summer gaining legal experience and serving veterans! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stetson Law’s Veterans Law Institute seeks students to assist veterans who are seeking disability benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In this position, you will be assisting veterans with their cases under the supervision of Professor Simcox and Professor MacIsaac-Bykowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Summer fellow duties involve client management\/interaction, legal research, writing, interviewing, and possible in-person\/telephonic hearings before the Department of Veteran Affairs. Summer fellows will learn about advocacy, administrative law, disability law, health law, federal work, and generally gain a wealth of substantive knowledge regarding veterans benefits law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Selected applicants can expect to have a valuable experience focused on writing, advocacy, as well as developing valuable relationships with clients and colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
