{"id":76629,"date":"2025-04-22T13:22:26","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T17:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/?p=76629"},"modified":"2025-04-22T13:22:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T17:22:26","slug":"aba-lgbtq-public-interest-scholarship-program-deadline-april-30-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/docket\/aba-lgbtq-public-interest-scholarship-program-deadline-april-30-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"ABA LGBTQ+ Public Interest Scholarship Program &#8211; Deadline April 30, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This scholarship is intended for law students and\/or recent law school graduates studying for the Bar who are working or will be working in the LGBTQ+ space doing public interest work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Scholarship will provide financial support to a first, second or third year law student, or recent law graduate to enable the student or recent law graduate to work in the LGBTQ+ public interest arena.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One or more scholarships of up to $5,000 each are awarded annually, subject to the availability of funds and the recommendation of the Commission\u2019s Scholarship Committee.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibilty Criteria<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be either a first or second or third year law student in good standing in an ABA accredited law school, or a recent law graduate from an ABA accredited law school still studying for the Bar Exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a secured an internship or job for Summer 2025 (which may extend beyond the Summer) and\/or the Fall of 2025 with a public interest organization engaged in legal or policy work with a direct impact on LGBTQ+ individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants will be evaluated on the strength of their complete application and all supporting materials, and demonstrated commitment to improve the legal and social standing of the LGBTQ+ community, including LGBTQ+ individuals.&nbsp; Every effort will be made to award three scholarships and to reflect diversity in the award recipients.
