(We have won the competition five times in that period.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And this time, we won the competition and we won the best petitioner\u2019s brief award in back-to-back years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please join me in congratulating <strong><em>Corinne Messina, Kaitlyn Stroud<\/em><\/strong>, <strong>and<\/strong> <strong><em>Robert Willis<\/em><\/strong>!&nbsp; The team worked through difficult issues involving the state-created danger doctrine and the Supreme Court\u2019s case of <em>DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services <\/em>and police power in regard to public safety and the Takings Clause.&nbsp; The team\u2019s success is due to so many\u2014thank you, Stetson, for all your support!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Congratulations, again, Corinne, Kaitlyn, and Robert!<\/strong> The spring semester is off to a great start.
