Apply for the Community Associates Program!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in learning about nonprofit organizations and the intersection of philanthropy and the law, this is a pro bono opportunity you do not want to miss!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alliance for Advocacy and Philanthropy (The Alliance) is seeking student pro-bono interns to work virtually on a variety of projects with nonprofit organizations in the Tampa Bay area. The Alliance is a partnership between the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and Stetson University College of Law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership is designed to engage students in the philanthropic community while strengthening the effectiveness of nonprofit efforts to address the needs of communities in the Tampa Bay area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who volunteer for these pro bono opportunities are required to commit to working at least three <\/strong>(3) <\/strong>hours per week<\/strong> for a minimum of ten<\/strong> <\/strong>(<\/strong>1<\/strong>0<\/strong>)<\/strong> weeks<\/strong> starting September<\/strong> 9, 2026<\/strong>.    Many of the assignments will be virtual or hybrid but some will be in person only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, these are examples and organizations may change each semester.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a student volunteer, you will be assigned non<\/strong>–<\/strong>legal research and writing <\/strong>as well as other non-legal <\/strong>projects<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In rare circumstances, you may have an opportunity to conduct legal research and writing under the supervision of a licensed attorney to earn legal pro bono hours.  However, most of these<\/strong> CAP<\/strong> <\/strong>opportunities will provide non-legal pro bono hours only.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, you may have opportunities to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Learn about the nonprofit grantmaking process<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Attend community meetings and virtual networking opportunities with nonprofit executives<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Collaborate with a wide variety of business executives, lawyers, and philanthropists<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Analyze socio-economic data, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Assist in evaluating programmatic outcomes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your application is due <\/strong>no later than 5 p.m. on <\/strong>August 27<\/strong>, 2026<\/strong>.<\/strong>  This deadline will not be extended.  You will be notified of whether you are placed in the Community Associates Program no later than September 4,<\/strong> 202<\/strong>6<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
