Radwan introduced Shacham, who discussed \u201cIsrael\u2019s Perspective in the Middle East,\u201d on the Gulfport campus on Sept. 12.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10066\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10066\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_3924_BEST1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10066\" title=\"Israeli Consul General Chaim Shacham talked with Stetson Law students on Sept. 12.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_3924_BEST1-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"Israeli Consul General Chaim Shacham talked with Stetson Law students on Sept. 12.\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10066\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Israeli Consul General Chaim Shacham talked with Stetson Law students on Sept. 12.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Shacham provided an overview of international relations in the region, including the history of Israel, significance of nationality, importance of democracy, and changes impacting the basic underlying political structure of the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing exposed to other views of the world will make you better lawyers,\u201d Radwan told the students, who actively participated in a Q &amp; A with Shacham about significant issues impacting international relations in the Middle East and the role of the U.S. in the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s always good to speak to student bodies because they have a very interesting, fresh perspective,\u201d said Shacham.<\/p>\n<p>Shacham\u2019s talk is the second lecture hosted by the International Programs Office at Stetson this semester.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/index.php\/2012\/09\/05\/argentinean-diplomat-speaks-with-students-about-global-citizenship-and-public-diplomacy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deputy Consul General of Argentina Gustavo Mart\u00ednez Pandiani spoke with students about global citizenship and public diplomacy on Sept. 4<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Next week, Stetson Law students will have an opportunity to learn more about spending the summer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/studyabroad\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">studying abroad at programs in Argentina, China, the Netherlands\/Switzerland and Spain<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cNo matter what you do in your life, you will be touched by international law in some way,\u201d Professor Theresa Radwan, dean for administration and business affairs at Stetson, told students gathered for a talk with Israeli Consul General Chaim Shacham.
