The Ramsar Convention, which has 164 countries as parties, works to conserve wetlands throughout the world. Gardner, the director of Stetson\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/international\/biodiversity\/\">Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy, previously served on the scientific body as the North American representative and as an invited expert.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bonells, a May 2012 Stetson Law graduate, started work this month for the Ramsar Secretariat in Switzerland as the STRP Technical Officer. A former Biodiversity Fellow at Stetson, she completed an externship at the Ramsar Secretariat in Switzerland in summer 2011 and presented a paper at a Ramsar Pan-American Meeting in Jamaica in December 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Alumna Anna Holt Upton was appointed to serve as outside general counsel for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evergladesfoundation.org\/\">Everglades Foundation<\/a>, which is dedicated to protecting and restoring America\u2019s Everglades, in 2011. She is a 2006 graduate of Stetson Law.
