Should everyone have equal access to justice? Do the elderly and people with disabilities have access to the courts? Judges, attorneys and court administrators will explore how to best provide access to justice for all, including those persons with physical limitations, on Stetson University College of Law’s Gulfport campus on Dec. 5. <\/p>\n

The American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Standing Committee on Diversity in the Profession, General Committee on Animal Law, and Stetson Law will present “Providing Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly with Equal Access to Justice.” Justice Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court will provide the keynote. <\/p>\n

The special one-day Continuing Legal Education program will take place in the Eleazer Courtroom on Stetson Law’s Gulfport campus at 1401 61st St. S. beginning with registration at 7:30 a.m. Stetson built the model barrier-free Eleazer Courtroom in 2005 specifically to give access to the elderly and the disabled. <\/p>\n
