The advanced day session opened with a presentation by Associate Dean Kristen D. Adams, announcing the Professor Rebecca C. Morgan Elder Law Scholarship Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The newly named scholarship for students enrolled in Stetson&#8217;s Elder Law Certificate of Concentration Program will enable students to learn about the legal issues facing a growing elder population.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13844\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13844\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/MajGenAstrue-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13844  \" src=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/MajGenAstrue-2-300x211.jpg\" alt=\"Ret. Photo by Laura Cheek.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This year\u2019s conference covered critical topics about special needs trusts and included sessions led by Michael Astrue, former commissioner of Social Security; Chung-yiu \u201cAndrew\u201d Lee, attorney with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of General Counsel; and Ret. Maj. Gen. Joseph Lynch, general counsel and corporate secretary of the Military Officers Association of America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year, this conference provides the most up-to-date and relevant education about special needs trusts and related disability law in the country, as well as an opportunity for professionals to network with the top practitioners and advisors in the country,\u201d said Professor Rebecca C.
