Kate Killerlain Morrison kicked off the fall 2014\u00a0Edward and Bonnie Foreman Biodiversity Lecture Series at Stetson on Oct. 2. Morrison is deputy executive secretary for the Sargasso Sea Commission, a partnership effort led by the Government of Bermuda to protect the Sargasso Sea.<\/p>\n

The Sargasso Sea Commission was established to encourage and facilitate voluntary collaboration on Sargasso Sea conservation efforts.<\/p>\n

The Commission was established after the Hamilton Declaration on Collaboration for the Conservation of the Sargasso Sea<\/em><\/a> was signed on March 11 by the governments of the Azores, Bermuda, Monaco, the U.K. and the U.S.<\/p>\n

Morrison spoke on the importance of building strong international ties to achieve success.<\/p>\n

Stetson\u2019s Biodiversity Lecture Series brings leading experts to campus to speak on a range of environmental topics directly impacting the state.<\/p>\n
