The panelists discussed their career paths, life in the courtroom, and provided advice for preparing for careers with\u00a0the State Attorney and Public Defender.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s criminal law panelists included\u00a0Ashley Roura &#8217;08,\u00a0Fred Schaub &#8217;84,\u00a0Tony Julian,\u00a0Douglas Covington,\u00a0Michael Hays and\u00a0Howardene Garrett.<\/p>\n<p>More than\u00a0100 students gathered in the Great Hall on Stetson Law&#8217;s Gulfport campus on Sept. 21 to hear from a panel of judges, professors, and current judicial clerks. Students learned\u00a0about how judicial clerkships\u00a0are viewed from the bench and the most effective way to pursue a clerkship.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s judicial clerkship panel included Judge\u00a0Anthony E. Porcelli B.A. &#8217;93, J.D. \u201998 of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Judge\u00a0Edward LaRose of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal, Stetson professors Marco Jimenez, Catherine Cameron, judicial clerks Lane Cryar J.D. \u201914 and Aimee Canty J.D. \u201914.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18316\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18316\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_2206_BEST.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18316 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_2206_BEST-300x192.jpg\" alt=\"Judicial clerkship panel\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18316\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(L-R): Professor Marco Jimenez, Judge Edward LaRose, Aimee Canty, Judge Anthony Porcelli, Lane Cryar and Professor Catherine Cameron.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The judges gave students insight into the qualities and experiences they look for in judicial clerks \u2013 both during law school and post-graduate clerkships. The professors discussed their experiences as judicial clerks and the impact clerking had on their careers.
