A crowd of students, faculty, staff and members of the community gathered to hear Walker\u00a0speak in the Great Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Walker discussed how\u00a0diversity is the key to stability in ecology.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uEM--XBMfXc?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nTrained as a biologist-botanist after the renowned Aldo Leopold, Walker has been called one of the most influential figures in the development of environmental ethics.<\/p>\n<p>Walker, who works at the U.S. EPA headquarters, handles major civil and criminal environmental law enforcement matters throughout the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Leopold was a conservationist\u00a0who is considered the father of\u00a0wildlife management and of the U.S. wilderness system.<\/p>\n<p>The event was\u00a0co-sponsored by Stetson&#8217;s Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy and Environmental Law Society.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18331\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18331\" style=\"width: 273px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_3163_Best-Crowd.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-18331\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/IMG_3163_Best-Crowd-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"A crowd gathered in the Great Hall to hear Mike Walker talk on Sept. 29.\" width=\"273\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18331\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A crowd gathered in the Great Hall to hear Mike Walker talk on Sept. 29.
