Photo by Karun Rivero.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speakers, students, and attendees from around the world are\u00a0participating in this year&#8217;s conference and will address topics such as hunting, fishing and other impacts on wildlife, as well as connections and collaborations across multilateral environmental agreements.<\/p>\n<p>Download photos from the conference here:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-color: #555555;\" src=\"http:\/\/stetsonlaw.zenfolio.com\/zf\/core\/embedgallery.aspx?p=0972c7cd0ff405211CCCCCC03e111111F5F5F5DDDDDD555555CCCCCC.2\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s conference is being held in conjunction with the international finals of the 20th Annual Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition, which brings international student teams to compete on Stetson&#8217;s Gulfport campus.<\/p>\n<p>Featured conference speakers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marceil Yeater, former chief, legal affairs and trade policy, Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora<\/li>\n<li>Elizabeth Gitari, advocate of the High Court of Kenya and legal affairs manager, WildlifeDirect<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Lawrence E. Killmar, zoo director\u00a0and senior vice president of animal science and conservation and chief zoological officer, Tampa\u2019s Lowry Park Zoo<\/li>\n<li>Ryan Tate, co-founder and president of Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;One of the things that I would advise young lawyers to do is No. 1 to be passionate and committed because the duty to ensure that Africa and the world&#8217;s endangered species endure forever is the duty of every global citizen,&#8221; said Gitari. \u00a0Gitari delivered the Edward and Bonnie Foreman Biodiversity Lecture on April 13 to an audience of law students from around the world.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/258972785&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;visual=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stetson University College of Law is hosting the 16th International Wildlife Law Conference on April 13-14 in Gulfport, Florida.
