Stetson Law students\u00a0Haley Coet and Reshma Pharsi won honorable mention awards for pro bono service.<\/p>\n<p>Greenberg was honored for her dedication to the cause of pro bono service and commitment to helping the community. Greenberg has served as\u00a0a Guardian Ad Litem for close to 20\u00a0children and teens since 2013, and is active in\u00a0the 18th and Sixth Judicial Circuit. Greenberg launched Child Advocates of Stetson Law, a student organization on Stetson&#8217;s Gulfport campus that connects and recruits Guardian ad Litem volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pro bono work has been the most rewarding aspect of law school for me,&#8221; said Greenberg. &#8220;Pro bono work offers law students a real opportunity to make a measurable impact to those in need of legal services.\u00a0It is a privilege\u00a0to\u00a0advocate for\u00a0teens in the court system who have no one else to be a voice for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A second-year student in the Social Justice Advocacy Concentration Program at Stetson law school, Greenberg was also honored for outstanding volunteer service at a special program recognizing the top candidates in the Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Pro Bono competition at Stetson in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>Coet received placed first in Stetson law school&#8217;s\u00a0inaugural Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Pro Bono competition this semester, and was honored for her outstanding volunteer service along with Greenberg and student Melody Jacquay.<\/p>\n<p>Pharsi was\u00a0a member of the moot court team that\u00a0won honorable mention awards in three categories, for claimant\u2019s memorandum, respondent\u2019s memorandum and oralist, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cisgmoot.org\/en-US\/Content\/2\">Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (East) Competition<\/a> held March 27-April 2 in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>Stetson was the first law school in the state to require pro bono service of its students and faculty\u00a0and one of the first law schools in the country to establish a pro bono service requirement for graduation.
