LL.M. in International Law student Riya Khan has been accepted into the\u00a0United Nations Graduate Study Programme<\/a> starting this summer. The program provides an opportunity for outstanding graduate and postgraduate students from around the world to deepen their understanding of the principles, purposes and activities of the U.N. and its related agencies through first-hand observation and study at the U.N. Office in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“It’s a two-week program where you take classes at the U.N. in Geneva working with post-graduate students from around the world,” said Khan.<\/p>\n

Selected students will work on this year’s theme of “Climate Change, Migration, Violent Extremism: The United Nations’ Role in Preventing Conflicts Spurred by the Challenges of Our Time.” Students will also hear lectures by senior members of the U.N. and the Geneva-based specialized agencies. Classes and lectures\u00a0are held at the U.N. Geneva where actual\u00a0sessions take place.<\/p>\n

Between 50-70 students are selected from around the world. Last year, 70 were selected.\u00a0The program, July 3-14 at the U.N. Office in Geneva, is free but selected students must pay the\u00a0cost of travel and living expenses for two weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
