Professor Andrew Appleby.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Andrew Appleby joined Stetson University College of Law as an assistant professor of law, teaching federal income tax courses beginning this fall.<\/p>\n

Professor Appleby practiced tax law at leading firms for nearly a decade.\u00a0 Most recently, he was special counsel in the tax group at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP\u2019s New York office. \u00a0Professor Appleby was a partner in the tax group at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP\u2019s New York office, and an associate in the corporate group at Alston & Bird LLP\u2019s Atlanta office.\u00a0 Prior to his legal career, he was an information technology and business consultant.<\/p>\n

Professor Appleby has published in many leading journals and law reviews, focusing primarily on state tax and sports tax issues. \u00a0He has been featured in the New York Times and Bloomberg TV\u2019s \u201cInBusiness with Margaret Brennan.\u201d \u00a0He also taught advanced legal methods as a member of the New York Law School adjunct faculty.<\/p>\n

Professor Appleby earned an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, where he participated in the Graduate Tax Scholar fellowship program.\u00a0 He earned a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts \u2013 Amherst, and a B.S. from Florida State University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
