The victory prepares the team to advance to the&nbsp;Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition in Vienna in early April.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Team members are&nbsp;Huda&nbsp;Awan, Melissa&nbsp;Micceri, Devin&nbsp;Dudley, Audrey&nbsp;Gangloff, Pedro&nbsp;Aranguez Diaz, and Joe&nbsp;Cuffel.&nbsp;This was the first competition for&nbsp;Awan, Diaz, Dudley,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Micceri,&nbsp;and the first dispute resolution competition for&nbsp;Gangloff, who is also a member of the Moot Court Board.&nbsp;Cuffel&nbsp;was the lone veteran on the team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professor&nbsp;Joseph&nbsp;Morrissey,&nbsp;Professor&nbsp;Stephanie&nbsp;Vaughan, and student Clare&nbsp;McQueen&nbsp;coached the team.&nbsp;McQueen&nbsp;was part of last year&#8217;s team that advanced to the Elite 8 in Vienna.&nbsp;They said&nbsp;the competition was especially fierce this year, with international (Finnish Lapland University) and out-of-state (American&nbsp;University Washington College of Law&nbsp;and Tulane&nbsp;Law School) teams joining the usual Florida schools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Florida Bar International Law Section hosts&nbsp;the&nbsp;Richard DeWitt Memorial Vis Pre-Moot&nbsp;for teams competing in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition in Vienna and Hong Kong. The day-long event includes four rounds between the competing law schools with seasoned practitioners serving as arbitrators.&nbsp;The event gives students&nbsp;an opportunity to practice and sharpen their skills by presenting and defending their legal arguments and receiving feedback from some of the best practitioners in&nbsp;international law.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students must argue the jurisdictional, procedural and substantive issues raised by the case before a panel composed of practitioners, under the applicable international treaties and rules.
