For the 22nd time, Stetson University\nCollege of Law is ranked the No. 1 school for Trial Advocacy in the United States,\naccording to U.S. News & World Report<\/em>. Stetson is ranked No. 3 for\nLegal Writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is a remarkable accomplishment to be ranked number one in Trial\nAdvocacy for the 22nd time,\u201d said Stetson University President Wendy B. Libby,\nPh.D. \u201cThis steadfast dedication to excellence underlines Stetson\u2019s commitment\nto a rigorous education where innovative faculty are deeply invested in\nensuring our law students become outstanding legal advocates in their\ncommunities.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year marks\nStetson Law\u2019s 120th<\/sup> anniversary, and since its inception, the\ncollege has required its students to enroll in a practice court advocacy\ncourse. In fact, it is believed to be the first academic course of its kind at\na law school. Through the Center for Excellence in Advocacy<\/a>, Stetson continues to take seriously that\nlegacy of molding practice-ready lawyers every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as important as trial advocacy, legal\nwriting is a bedrock skill for any practicing lawyer. Stetson\u2019s legal research\nand writing curriculum provides students the tools to hone their ability to\ncomplete sophisticated legal analysis and to write clearly and persuasively. The\nfaculty, through Stetson\u2019s Institute for the Advancement\nof Legal Communication<\/a>, pursue scholarship and leadership in legal writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
