Stetson University College of Law student Jennifer Morris McPheeters was named Best Advocate in the St. Louis regional of the American Bar Association Law Student Division National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) on March 14. Stetson sent two teams to the regional NAAC, a traditional moot court competition focusing on written and oral advocacy skills.<\/p>\n

“The ABA competition is one of the most prestigious competitions in the nation,” said Moot Court Advisor Professor Stephanie Vaughan. Thirty-one teams competed in the St. Louis regional \u2013 one of six regional competitions in the NAAC.<\/p>\n

Student Chris Sprowls was named Fourth Best Advocate and the team of Jennifer Morris McPheeters, Kristin Shusko and Chris Sprowls won the Second Best Brief Award in the regional competition.<\/p>\n

Professors Michael Allen and Louis Virelli coached the students. “It makes me proud to be a teacher,” Professor Allen said of working with the students.<\/p>\n
