{"id":3592,"date":"2009-03-09T15:26:21","date_gmt":"2009-03-09T03:26:21","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-05-19T16:09:57","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T20:09:57","slug":"stetson-creates-new-public-service-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/index.php\/2009\/03\/09\/stetson-creates-new-public-service-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Stetson Creates New Public Service Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stetson University College of Law has created a new <strong>Public Service Scholarship<\/strong> to be awarded annually that will cover full tuition for one student\u2019s last two semesters. <br \/>\n  \u00a0<br \/>\n  The scholarship will be awarded based on a demonstrated history of public service and on the selected student\u2019s intention to engage in public service law upon graduation. Public service law is broadly defined to include employment with U.S. or international nonprofit organizations, government service, and law firms whose primary mission is serving the public interest or under-represented clients. <br \/>\n  \u00a0<br \/>\n  \u201cThis scholarship was created to ease the burden of high debt faced by students upon graduation,\u201d said Laura Zuppo, executive director of admissions and financial aid. \u201cStudents can go into public service fields without feeling nervous that they will not be able to pay their monthly loan payments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to apply for the Public Service Scholarship is <strong>March 16, 2009<\/strong>.
