Professors Nagle and Gardner recently participated in “Wetlands in War: International Environmental Law and Damages to Aquatic Resources during Conflict” at the ABA International Law Section Fall Meeting in London on October 3. Professor Gardner was the program chair and moderator, and the panelists were Abou Bamba, the Ramsar Secretariat’s Senior Advisor for Africa, Rae Lindsay of Clifford Chance (London), Joe Dellapenna of Villanova, and Professor Luz Nagle of Stetson. Bamba introduced the Ramsar Convention and spoke about the environmental impacts of African conflicts. Lindsay discussed environmental damage claims from the first Gulf War, and Dellapenna covered the draining of the Mesopotamian Marshlands by Saddam Hussein.
