{"id":6529,"date":"2011-10-12T16:47:31","date_gmt":"2011-10-12T20:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/?p=6529"},"modified":"2012-02-23T13:21:23","modified_gmt":"2012-02-23T18:21:23","slug":"stetson-law-student-creates-heroes-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/index.php\/2011\/10\/12\/stetson-law-student-creates-heroes-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Stetson law student creates Heroes Weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Marine and current Stetson Law student Javier Centonzio is spearheading Heroes Weekend, a series of public events to honor \u00a0military service men and women and veterans on Nov. 10, 12 and 13 in Gulfport.<\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to enjoy a free concert, a parade and a musical performance benefiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.woundedwarriorproject.org\/\">Wounded Warrior Project<\/a>. Centonzio joined forces with the American Legion Post 125, the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Gulfport to create the Heroes Weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Events include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m.: The South Pasadena Community Band performs a free concert sponsored by the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce at the Gulfport Casino, 5500 Shore Blvd. S. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saturday, Nov. 12, 4 p.m.: The City of Gulfport sponsors a parade along Beach Blvd. in Gulfport. Those interested in participating in the parade should contact Gail Biron with the City of Gulfport at (727) 893-1118 or <a href=\"mailto:gbiron@mygulfport.us\">gbiron@mygulfport.us<\/a>. The deadline to register for the parade is Nov. 8.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunday, Nov. 13, 5:30 p.m.: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gigsalad.com\/jeff_jelvis_lajess_seminole\">JELVIS<\/a>\u201d will be performing a \u201cTribute to Elvis\u201d at the Gulfport Casino. The tickets are $10 each and will be sold at the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce and at the American Legion Post 125. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Tables that seat eight can be reserved in advance for $200.
