{"id":83,"date":"2004-04-05T13:38:36","date_gmt":"2004-04-05T17:38:36","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-03-02T13:13:13","modified_gmt":"2012-03-02T18:13:13","slug":"april-5-stetson-law-student-wins-best-oral-advocate-in-national-trial-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/index.php\/2004\/04\/05\/april-5-stetson-law-student-wins-best-oral-advocate-in-national-trial-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"April 5- Stetson Law student wins Best Oral Advocate in National Trial Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Contact Frank Klim<br \/>\nExecutive Director of Communications<br \/>\n(727) 562-7889<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gulfport, Fla. <\/strong>&#8211; Stetson University College of Law student Rena Upshaw-Frazier was named Best Oral Advocate and the team of Upshaw-Frazier and Julia Metts placed second in the National Trial Competition in Austin, Texas.Best Oral Advocate<\/p>\n<p>With the award, Upshaw-Frazier will be invited to the national convention of the American College of Trial Lawyers, where she will speak to approximately 2,000 members in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>The Stetson team of Upshaw-Frazier and Julia Metts went undefeated through three preliminary rounds and defeated Temple University and South Texas College of Law in the quarterfinals and the semifinals, respectively, to advance to the final round.
