Boyer \u201978 has taught several classes in Stetson\u2019s J.D. and LL.M. degree programs as an adjunct professor.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9645\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9645\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Boyer_Edwin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-9645\" title=\"Professor Edwin Boyer\" src=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Boyer_Edwin-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Professor Edwin Boyer\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9645\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Professor Edwin Boyer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Boyer, who is the immediate past-president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naela.org\/\">National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys<\/a> and a partner in the Sarasota elder law firm of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boyerjackson.com\/\">Boyer &amp; Jackson P.A.,<\/a> will serve as a mentor to Stetson Law students focused in the area of elder law. He will teach a class on trusts and estates at Stetson during the fall semester of 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that someone of Ed Boyer\u2019s experience and stature will enrich Stetson\u2019s fine elder law program as the first Borchard Distinguished Professorial Lecturer,\u201d said Edward D. Spurgeon, the president of the Borchard Foundation and co-director of the Borchard Foundation Law and Aging Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an honor to be named by the Stetson faculty as the Borchard Distinguished Professorial Lecturer in Elder Law,\u201d said Professor Boyer. \u201cAt Stetson, I am looking forward to furthering the foundation\u2019s mission of helping improve the quality of life for elderly people through service and education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.borchardcla.org\/\">Borchard Foundation, <\/a>through its Center on Law and Aging, works through education, research and service to help improve the quality of life for elderly people, including those who are impoverished or isolated by lack of education, language, culture, disability or other barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Stetson built the Eleazer Courtroom, the nation\u2019s first barrier-free and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/academics\/elder\/home\/eleazer-courtroom.php\">elder-friendly courtroom<\/a>, in 2005 as a model for accessibility on the Gulfport campus.
