Moody\u2019s oral history of her extraordinary legal career will be housed at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/index.html\">Library of Congress<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radcliffe.harvard.edu\/schlesinger-library\">Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America\u00a0at Harvard University<\/a>, and on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.americanbar.org\/divisions\/srlawyers\/womentrailblazers\/trailblazer.aspx?TB=Moody\">ABA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9706\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9706\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Moody-Lizabeth-crop.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-9706 \" title=\"Lizabeth Moody\" src=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Moody-Lizabeth-crop-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Lizabeth Moody\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9706\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lizabeth Moody<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Moody is a Distinguished University Professor at Stetson Law and was the school\u2019s vice president and dean from 1994-1999, opening the state-of-the art <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/library\/\">Dolly &amp; Homer Hand Law Library<\/a> and laying the foundation for the college\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/admissions\/jd\/part-time-program.php\">part-time law<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/international\/home\/\">international programs<\/a>. She was honored by the Baltic state of Estonia\u2019s Higher Education Accreditation Centre in March 2000 for her efforts in legal higher education.<\/p>\n<p>Moody was one of only seven women in her class of 160 Yale Law graduates, and before<em> <\/em>entering the teaching profession, she opened doors for women in the legal profession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to be a lawyer more than anything in the world,\u201d Moody explained.<\/p>\n<p>Moody was one of the first women lawyers rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and was the first woman to be elected president of the Cleveland Bar Association. In spite of the era\u2019s notorious \u201cglass ceiling\u201d for female lawyers, Moody made partner decades ago at the prominent Cleveland law firm of Metzenbaum, Gaines &amp; Stern. While teaching at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Moody and Professor Jane Picker created the <a href=\"http:\/\/ech.case.edu\/ech-cgi\/article.pl?id=WLFI\">Women\u2019s Law Fund, Inc.,<\/a> the first law firm in the nation to specialize in sex-discrimination cases, in 1972.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLizabeth Moody\u2019s achievements as a leader in women\u2019s legal history are remarkable,\u201d said Stetson Law dean <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/news\/index.php\/2012\/06\/25\/christopher-m-pietruszkiewicz-is-the-new-dean-of-stetson-law\/\">Christopher Pietruszkiewicz<\/a>, who began serving as dean at Stetson Law in June. \u201cI am extremely proud that she is a member of the Stetson Law faculty, where she serves as a mentor to her students and as an inspiration to her colleagues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Moody received the Josephine Irwin Award honoring women who have championed social justice for women, the American Bar Association Section of Business Law honored Moody with the Glass Cutter Award for her extraordinary efforts in paving the way for other women in the legal profession, and she was honored with the Ohio State Bar Medal, the association\u2019s highest honor. The city of Cleveland named the day of May 8, 1990, in honor of Lizabeth A. Moody.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Moody teaches at Stetson Law in the area of corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on nonprofit corporations and professional responsibility. She was inducted into Stetson Law\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/about\/hof\/2009-inductees.php\">Hall of Fame<\/a> in 2009. Stetson Law Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.stetson.edu\/faculty\/podgor-ellen-s\/\">Ellen S.
