{"id":98,"date":"2004-03-03T15:01:54","date_gmt":"2004-03-03T20:01:54","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-03-02T13:24:39","modified_gmt":"2012-03-02T18:24:39","slug":"march-3-hundreds-to-compete-national-mock-trial-tournament-at-stetson-law-march-5-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/law\/news\/index.php\/2004\/03\/03\/march-3-hundreds-to-compete-national-mock-trial-tournament-at-stetson-law-march-5-7\/","title":{"rendered":"March 3- Hundreds to compete national mock trial tournament at Stetson Law March 5-7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Contact Frank Klim<br \/>\nExecutive Director of Communications<br \/>\n(727) 562-7889<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gulfport, Fla.<\/strong> &#8211; Mock trial teams from colleges and universities nationwide have fought to earn a chance to compete in the American Mock Trial Association&#8217;s National Intercollegiate Mock Trial Tournament March 5-7 at Stetson University College of Law.<\/p>\n<p>More than 450 undergraduate college students comprising 46 teams from 40 different institutions are expected to participate. Competitions will take place at the Gulfport campus of Stetson Law and the Circuit Civil Courtroom in downtown St. Petersburg. Local judges and attorneys will judge the trials.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stetson, as the top advocacy law school in the country, is thrilled to be hosting this superb collegiate advocacy competition,&#8221; said Dean Darby Dickerson. &#8220;We are glad to see so many students interested in this area and working hard to hone their skills.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There are four rounds of competition, with one taking place Friday night, two Saturday and the final round is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Stetson. Concurrent with the finals, there will be an All-American Honors round.
