This semester’s Speculative Fiction Book Club book will be Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell!
The book club meeting will be held in the library on Wednesday, February 26th at 6:30 PM, so please do not sign up if you will not be available to attend this event. The meeting will feature discussion, food, and cultural credit.
We have fifteen copies of the book to give out to the first fifteen applicants. All you have to do is email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Book Club” to sign up! You will then receive instructions on how to retrieve your book.
Cloud Atlas is a nesting-doll novel that blends adventure, romance, mystery, sci-fi and more in an intertwining epic that bounces from the South Pacific in 1849 to prewar Belgium to 70s California to present-day London to a futuristic South Korea to a post-apocalyptic Hawai’i… and then all the way back again, revealing along the way “how disparate people connect, how their fates intertwine, and how their souls drift across time like clouds across the sky”.
