It faces due east, towards vernal equinox sunrise. The dolmen is on a ranch called &#8220;Barrocal,&#8221; which is on the main highway to the southwest from Evora toward Nossa Senhora da Tourega. Its GPS coordinates are 38 N 30.475&#8242;, 8 W 00.333&#8242;. The site is at an elevation of 785 feet and has a smaller sister dolmen across the dirt road to the south.
