THREE MORE PARISHES DECIDE TO TRANSFER TO LOCAL CHURCH IN CHERNOVTSY OBLAST

As of today, in Chernovtsy oblast seven church communities have already decided to transfer out of the jurisdiction of the former UPTsMP into the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU). The church community of the village of Zadubrovka made the decision regarding the transfer of the church of Archangel Michael into PTsU.
In Chernovtsy oblast, today three church communities at meetings made the decision to transfer out of the jurisdiction of the former Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate into the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
As conveyed by a UNIAN correspondent, this morning after the liturgy, the first such decision was made by the parish of the village of Yaseni of Storozhinets district. One hundred forty nine members of the church parish of the church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, by a unanimous decision, supported the transfer into the PTsU. The rector of the church did not arrive for the meeting.
Later the church community of the village of Zadubrovka of Zastavna district, in a meeting, made the decision about the transfer of the church of the Archangel Michael from the jurisdiction of the former UPTsMP into the PTsU. This decision of the parish was supported unanimously by 158 votes. At the same time, in the meeting the decision was made to send an appeal to Metropolitan of Chernovtsy and Bukovina Daniil requesting that he provide pastoral care for the church.
The rector of the church, Father Leonid Delikatny, refused to come to the meeting of the parish. At the same time, in a comment for a UNIAN correspondent he declared the illegality of these gatherings, explaining this by the saying that "the law on transfer of churches has still not been signed."
"Let them adopt what they want and as they wish; let them think what they want, but they did not have the right to do this," the priest reported.
In addition, today the church community of the village of Vaslovovtsy of Zastavna district unanimously, by 194 votes, supported the decision of transfer of the local church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God from subordination to the former UPTsMP into the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The meeting concerning transfer of the church was held in the premises of the local school, while a group of residents of the village, supporters of the former UPTsMP, refused to come to this session, remaining in the church. The rector of the church also did not show up for the meeting.
Now in Chernovtsy oblast, seven church communities have already made the decision regarding transfer from subordination to the former UPTsMP to the PTsU. The first of such intentions was expressed by the parish of the village of Shishkovtsy of Kitsman district on 19 December 2018. Later the parishes of the villages of Karapchiv, Vizhnitsa district, and Boianchuk, Zastavna district, transferred into the PTsU.
On 20 January 2019, the parish of the church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God of the village of Goroshovtsy, Zastavina district, decided to transfer into the PTsU.
On 8 January 2019, Archbishop of Chernovtsy and Kitsman Onufrey, at a press conference, reported the intentions of another 15 church communities of Chernovtsy oblast to transfer into the PTsU.
