CONVENT
IN
EKATERINBURG PREPARES INCENSE WITH ENHANCED ANTIVIRAL EFFECT
Interfax-Religiia,
19
March 2020
Incense
with an
enhanced antiviral effect will be produced in the Novo-Tikhvin
Alexander Nevsky
convent of Ekaterinburg.
"In our
workshop
incense will be manufactured with essential oils of lavender,
geranium, basil,
and lemon, because the essential oils of these plants have a
more powerful
antiviral effect. Censing will be performed in worship services
only with this
incense," a report of the cloister says.
At the
same time, it
is noted that parishioners get sick less often since the incense
that is burned
in the church buildings during liturgies cleanses the air of
viruses and
strengthens the immunity function of the organism.
The new
incense will
be able to be used at home also.
As
reported, in Sverdlovsk
oblast a regime of heightened readiness has been introduced
because of the
threat of coronavirus. On Tuesday, the first case of this
infection in the
region was registered. It was detected in a girl who had flown
in from Italy.
The
patient returned
to the Urals from a cruise on the Mediterranean Sea on 12 March
and she was
hospitalized on 16 March. At the present time, the girl is in a
separate
isolation unit of the hospital; her condition is satisfactory.

PROCESSIONS
AGAINST
CORONAVIRUS TO BE PERFORMED DAILY IN CENTER OF MOSCOW
Interfax-Religiia,
19
March 2020
Inhabitants
of the
Vysoko-Petrov monastery of Moscow have decided to circumambulate
their cloister
every evening with a procession of the holy cross with sung
prayers for
deliverance from the coronavirus.
"Considering
the
trial that has visited the city and Muscovites, the brothers of
our
Vysoko-Petrov monastery will walk around its walls every evening
with a sung
prayer service. While sprinkling the territory of the cloister
and surrounding
its walls with holy water, we will appeal to the Lord, the Most
Holy Mother of
God, and the holy prelate of Kiev Peter the Miracleworker of
Moscow for aid and
intercession for all in need," the abbot of the cloister,
Hegumen Peter,
wrote on Instagram.
The
first procession
of the holy cross was performed on Wednesday after the evening
liturgy. The
monks walked along the sidewalks surrounding the monastery with
the Blachernae
icon of the Mother of God, maintaining a safe distance from one
another.
"Today
we all
need help from above and therefore the brothers of our monastery
have
unanimously decided to intensify prayer. The Lord will not
abandon
anyone," the abbot of the cloister is sure. (tr. by PDS, posted
