Russian
President
Vladimir Putin congratulated Orthodox Christians and all Russian
citizens,
marking the Glorious Resurrection of Christ, the Kremlin press
service reports.
"The
great
holiday of Pascha fills people's hearts with joy, hope, and
faith in the
all-conquering power of life and in the triumph of good, love,
and justice.
These enduring ideals and values strengthen our people and help
them withstand
in a time of difficult trials," the message says.
The
president said:
"Today, as in every time, the Russian Orthodox Church and other
Christian
confessions direct their selfless ministry toward the
strengthening of the
spiritual and moral foundations of society and the increase in
our historic and
cultural attainments. They participate creatively in the
training of the rising
generation and the strengthening of the institution of the
family."
"I
especially
note the great and eagerly sought social and charitable activity
of Christian religious
organizations and their support of selfless volunteers and all
concerned people,
who in the current difficult time are sincerely striving to help
their
neighbors," Putin said. (tr. by PDS, posted 20 April 2020)
