P.Ts.U. ANNOUNCES HOW MEETING WITH PATRIARCH BARTHOLOMEW WILL OCCUR

The
PTsU
[Orthodox Church of Ukraine] is inviting believers to meet
the ecumenical
patriarch and to join in a liturgy with his participation.
"We
invite believers to join us in welcoming the ecumenical
patriarch, the first
among equals, and to lift our thanks to the Lord in joint
prayer. After all, it
is owing to the firm position of His Holiness that the
Ukrainian Orthodox
Church now has equal rights with other local churches of the
world, and the
Ukrainian people may worship in their native church in their
native
language," the PTsU notes.
In
particular, there will be a festive meeting of the patriarch
and prayers of
thanksgiving on the occasion of his arrival on 21 August at
10:00 in the St.
Michael's Golden-Domed cathedral.
On 22 August, at 9:00, a Divine Liturgy will be conducted under the open sky on the territory of the Holy Wisdom cathedral of Kiev, which will be led by two primates: Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan of Kiev and all-Ukraine Epifany. (tr. by PDS, posted 18 August 2021)
