Today, a letter was delivered to Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, from over 200 student body presidents across the United States. This letter, spearheaded by Georgetown University’s Student Association, concerns Title IX, the processes most commonly known for the procedures it puts in place concerning sexual assault on college campuses. This letter addresses Secretary DeVos’s original position to ensure fair procedures and protect students, and how she is now vowing to roll back many protections and make it more difficult for survivors of something horrific to come forward. Our Student Body President, Alyssa Morley, signed this letter, and is in full support of its mission. The text of the letter is presented above, but if you would like to read it with the signatures attached, it can be accessed at the link below.
We as the Student Government Association encourage you all to read this letter. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
