This year, the worldwide CEO Global Pitch Competition took place in Tampa, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. Stetson University was represented by students Nicole Stover and Skye Shapiro-Simmons in this competition.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

During the first round of pitches, both Nicole and Skye were selected as Top 100 CEO Global Pitch Competition Participants. Having two students from one university rarely happens, and it is a major accomplishment!\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0After the last round of pitches, it was announced that \u00a0Nicole made it to the Top 20 and Skye was honored with the \u201cOutstanding Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization Chapter Leader Award.\u201d Well deserved!\u00a0<\/p>

We would also like to highlight the participation of Stetson faculty members, Professor Daniel Scott and Dr. Kevin Taylor, who presented the conference\u2019s opening workshop this year. On top of that, Professor Scott was also one of the three judges evaluating the final pitches of this year\u2019s competition. \u00a0<\/p>

On the weekend of November 16th, Stetson University\u2019s Joseph C. Prince Entrepreneurship Program attended the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) Conference.
During the conference, our students Skye Shapiro-Simmons and Rosa Vega Acevedo were awarded with the Outstanding Student Engagement & Leadership Award! Skye also won the Global Outstanding Club President award a couple of weeks before that.
Rosa and Skye are both Prince Entrepreneurs and HAN Analysts, and they have brought yet another global award to DeLand. We are extremely proud of their achievements and to have them represent Stetson University so well at the GCEC Conference.
Usually, these awards have a second place as well due to their geographic scope. However, our students\u2019 work was so well done and outstanding that it blew away the judges, and they didn\u2019t even award second place to this category.
We would like to thank Skye and Rosa, as well as Daniel James Scott and Kevin Taylor for accompanying them and revising their nomination.
