Jane Darby is a freshman at Stetson University and an Air Force ROTC crosstown Cadet. She is the recipient of the J100 Scholarship and is already making a name for herself at Detachment 157. Jane is a biology major, and she chose Stetson not only for its academic program, but also so that she could carry on her mother\u2019s legacy as a Hatter. For Jane, Stetson\u2019s intimate campus lifestyle and manageable class sizes have given her the ability to engage more directly with her professors, therefore promoting an enhanced academic experience.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Being involved with AFROTC can be challenging balancing military duties with a rigorous academic curriculum is not easy. When asked what her most difficult challenges were as a crosstown cadet, Jane said \u201ctime management and creating stronger bonds with other cadets are my biggest challenges\u201d. But even with such challenges, Cadet Darby is passionate about her education and the program. For her, it\u2019s all about embracing the challenge of doing something larger than herself.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Jane deeply values the numerous opportunities the AFROTC program provides, specifically developing her as a stronger leader\/follower while gaining additional poise to achieve her goal. For Jane, the emphasis on teamwork and camaraderie present in Det. 157 is what most stands out to her in the program as a whole.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
