RGIP Showcase<\/b><\/h2>

In a culmination of the RGIP (Roland George Investments Program) Finance Competition on Nov. 2, the Stetson University Board of Trustees, associated with the Roland George Investments Program, implemented significant investment decisions based on the astute recommendations of participating students.\u202f<\/span>
Five teams presented compelling stock recommendations for five distinct AI (Artificial Intelligence) companies: Palantir Technologies Inc., Cadence Design Systems Inc., Alphabet Inc., SuperMicro Computer Inc., and Baidu Inc. Palantir Technologies emerged victorious, securing the top spot, followed by Alphabet in second place, and SuperMicro Computer in the third position.\u202f<\/span>
Out of the five outstanding recommendations, the board opted to invest in the stocks of two companies: Palantir Technologies and Cadence Design Systems.\u202f<\/span>
Palantir Technologies Inc. (PLTR), renowned for its expertise in data integration and analytics, claimed the top spot with a comprehensive analysis that provided strong strategic insights. The winning team, comprising students Sugeeth Sathish, Georgia Goering, and Alonso Tang, impressed the Board with their profound understanding and compelling recommendations.\u202f<\/span>
Likewise, the team behind Alphabet Inc. showcased expertise in both AI and data analytics, laying the groundwork for robust investment recommendations. This team, consisting of Cameron Spence, Beatriz Vossen, and Braden Hill, demonstrated a deep understanding of the industry.\u202f<\/span>
The RGIP Showcase witnessed active participation from over 360 engaged and diverse audience members, including members of the DeLand community, faculty, students, and industry professionals. The votes reflected the rigorous analyses and recommendations presented by the teams, as noted by Matt Hurst, Stetson\u2019s associate professor of Finance and director of the Roland George Investments Institute.\u202f<\/span>
Following an intensive review of the teams\u2019 presentations and audience votes, the Board of Trustees made the strategic decision to invest in the stocks of Palantir Technologies and Alphabet Inc., while acknowledging the effort of all RGIP students.\u202f<\/span>
\u201cThis was the most successful RGIP Showcase ever, and I could not be prouder of the hard work, dedication, and professionalism that the teams demonstrated. The community turnout was tremendous,\u201d remarked Hurst.\u202f<\/span>
Shaffer, a student representing the Cadence Design Systems team, expressed, \u201cThe 2023 showcase was a huge success! Every student worked extremely hard to create professional, informative, and witty presentations that kept the audience\u2019s attention and represented RGIP in the best way. It was a pleasure and an honor to participate and help make it happen.
