Tropical storm update

Tropical Storm Warning in effect for Volusia County.

The National Hurricane Center, http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/#BERYL, has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the northeast coast of Florida including Volusia County.

Stetson University has posted a Weather Alert on its home page and will provide periodic updates on its Hatter Alert webpage.

Please continue to monitor the storm as it approaches and use caution. A few tips:

* To avoid possible damage from flooding, please pick things up off the floor, particularly in indoor areas prone to flooding.

* If you are outside during a storm, move immediately to a well-constructed building nearby.

* If you must go outdoors immediately after a severe storm, watch for fallen power lines and hazardous debris.
