Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote announced the addition of two new members to the Stetson tennis staff on Thursday. Christophe Noblet is a new Assistant Coach, while former Hatter star Maksim Levanovich will be a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

Noblet comes to Stetson after a stint as a graduate assistant for men’s and women’s tennis at Columbus State University.  There, he assisted in the recruitment process, daily practices, on-court coaching, and administrative tasks.  Noblet will be assisting with both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Stetson.

“I am absolutely thrilled to start working with Coach Pilote and to be part of Stetson Athletics,” Noblet said.  “Pierre offers a wealth of coaching experience and his dedication to the tennis programs is outstanding. I am looking forward to learning from him on a daily basis.”

As a player, Noblet was the team captain and number one player for Columbus State. He was ranked second in the nation in doubles and 31^st in singles in 2011. During the 2010-2011 season, Noblet advanced to theNCAA Division II Final Four, and he was the International Schools Cup Winner in France in 2003. He received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) and his Bachelor of Science at Universite Du Sud in Toulon, France.

“To be able to secure such an outstanding young coach is extremely positive for the tennis program,” Pilote said.  “His playing credentials are fantastic and his experience as a graduate assistant under Coach Isaacs at Columbus State makes him ready to be a significant asset for both teams.  Coach Isaacs has a track record of not only producing great teams but also developing outstanding young coaches.”

Levanovich is a familiar face, as he just finished his playing career at Stetson in the spring of 2012. He was a four-year student-athlete on the men’s tennis team, finishing his senior season with a 16-2 (6-2 A-Sun) record in singles and a 16-6 (7-2 A-Sun) record in doubles. Levanovich was ranked 113th nationally at one point during his senior season.  He was also named Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, Atlantic Sun Scholar Athlete of the Year, and was the recipient of the NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship and Wendell Jarrard Sr. Award for Excellence.

“Maksim Levanovichis synonymous with success at Stetson University,” Pilote said. “Both squads will benefit greatly from his continued involvement with our programs.”

“I feel extremely honored to be able to spend more time on the tennis court with my former teammates and Coach,” Levanovich said. “They have become my friends and I know that they will be for the rest of my life. I owe everyone a lot for their support throughout my four years at Stetson. Now it is time for me to give back and share what I have learned with them. I will do my best to help them improve their games by sharing the experience I have gained playing college tennis.”
