Jane Solose, Canadian born Steinway Artist, is head of piano at University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory. Her concert program will include the very seldom heard Sergei Rachmaninoff Variations on a Theme by Chopin. Other works on the program include Grazer Fantasie in C Major, D. 605a by Franz Schubert; Gaspard de la Nuit – Trois poèmes pour piano d’après Aloysius Bertrand by Maurice Ravel; and The Masks of Astarte by Patrick Cardy.

A performer of truly international standing, Kimberly Marshall is the Goldman Professor of Organ at Arizona State University.  An advocate of early and modern music, her program will include works by Buxtehude, Sweelinck, J. S. Bach and others, as well as Pamela Decker’s 2010 Toccata on a Theme by Melchior Vulpius.

The Southern Winds, an ensemble made up of Stetson faculty, former students, band directors, and other professional musicians, will open the 26th Annual FBA Hall of Fame Weekend with a concert honoring the 2015 FBA Roll of Distinction inductees Charles “Charlie” E. Carter (posthumous) and Clifford K. Madsen. The program will feature several guest conductors and will include such works as: Carnival Overture by Antonin Dvořák; several works by Charles Carter including Overture for Winds; Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy; Suite of Old American Dances by Robert Russell Bennett; and will conclude with the Polka and Fugue from “Schwanda the Bagpiper” by Jaromir Weinberger.

To conclude the weekend, the Stetson University Symphonic Band, along with several guest conductors, will perform original works and arrangements for wind band as they honor the 2015 FBA Hall of Fame inductee Gary Bottomley. Some of the pieces included on the program are: Ron Nelson’s Ephiphanies: Fanfares and Chorales; A Symphonic Prelude by Alfred Reed; a setting of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Anne’s Fugue; Symphonic Dance No. 3 “Fiesta” by Clifton Williams; Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral by Richard Wagner; and John Philip Sousa’s The Black Horse Troop.
