Surviving and Thriving with Jud and Barb Stryker

Jud and Barb Stryker

Judson Stryker, D.B.A., professor of accounting at Stetson University for over 40 years, and his wife Barbara, have shared not only more than 54 years of marriage and a beautiful family, but they both have been stricken with the same rare physical condition within months of each other. Under the care of top quality physicians and the loving care of their family and each other, both Jud and Barb Stryker successfully had the same medical procedure that dramatically improved their health, and they are enjoying a healthy life together once again.

Because the symptoms of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) can easily be misdiagnosed as other diseases, including Alzheimer’s, the Strykers were motivated to share their story so we can all learn from their experience. “We’re here for a purpose,” said Stryker, “and where we can touch lives and make a difference, that’s what we should be doing.”

Their story attracted the attention of a local TV show, Surviving & Thriving, and the production team recently came to Stetson’s campus to tape a day with the Strykers. You are invited to share their miraculous story, on Surviving & Thriving, produced by Growing Bolder, presented by Florida Hospital, seen recently on WKMG News 6.
