During Homecoming Week, Stetson Dining will transform Rinker Field House into our campus dining hall from Thursday, Nov. 7, through Saturday, Nov. 9, at lunch.

Homecoming Weekend is set for Nov. 8-10 and will be packed with events like the Homecoming football game against San Diego on Saturday at noon, open houses, alumni reunions, entertainment and more.

Special dining events are planned inside the Rinker Field House over these days, and students, faculty and staff will use their meal plans, as usual. The Faculty-Staff Lounge will be closed on Friday only. Students, faculty and staff will see signs posted on the doors of the CUB, directing them to the Rinker Field House. Dining Services will have special giveaways, events, music and themed meals. The events include a ‘90s Throwback Thursday dinner on Nov. 7 with free Slinkys, stickers and other items.

“Stetson Dining is really looking forward to Homecoming Weekend full of fun dining events, including our Throwback Thursday, to help celebrate our alumni back on campus and the amazing contributions of our donors to the campus and our students,” said Candra Reid, Senior Director of Dining Services. “We want to help bring some excitement to campus and help our students celebrate the great years that we have seen, while allowing the campus to display our amazing facilities.”

The Coffee Shop and Johnny Rockets will maintain regular hours on Homecoming Weekend and remain open until 11 p.m. on Nov. 8. Einstein Bros. Bagels will extend its hours that night to 9, instead of its regular closing time of 6 p.m.

The student-run Homecoming Committee and supporting staff members have organized the Food Truck Round-Up for Friday, Nov. 8, from 5-8 p.m. in the Rinker Field Parking Area. Students on a meal plan will be able to use their meal swipe to receive a ticket for dinner at one of five food trucks, serving BBQ, tacos, pizza, seafood, hand-cut fries with various toppings and more. Seating will be available inside the Rinker Field House, with music, decorations and giveaways. The food trucks also will accept cash and credit cards and will be open to alumni, faculty, staff and guests.

The efforts are part of saying thank you to donors who contributed over the course of the past seven years more than $200 million to Stetson’s campaign, including more than $30 million for student scholarships.

A ticketed Campaign Celebration is set for Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Carlton Union Building and Lynn Commons dining hall. The “Beyond Success — Significance” campaign surpassed its goal and raised funds to build the Rinker Welcome Center and the Sandra Stetson Aquatic Center, and also will fund a new Health & Science initiative.

Other donations to the campaign went toward the renovation and expansion of CUB, the creation of the Institute for Water & Environmental Resilience, and faculty and student research support.

To prepare for the Campaign Celebration, Stetson Dining will use the Rinker Field House as the dining hall beginning with breakfast on Thursday morning, Nov. 7, until dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9, when the Commons will reopen to students, faculty and staff.
