• Central Florida Public Media interviewed Randall Croom, PhD, associate professor of Management, for the Aug. 27 public radio broadcast and online story, “Obesity is weighing down Florida’s economy.” A new report said obesity and excessive weight cost Florida $30.1 billion in 2022. “This influenced Medicaid costs to the tune of almost $650 million just in the state of Florida,” Croom said. “So when you start thinking about yourself as a taxpayer, that’s a way that you’re experiencing some cost.”
